World Bee Day

To demonstrate our commitment and spread its influence throughout the world, we created the Guerlain for Bees Conservation Programme, a network of partners rallied to the cause of bees and putting in place many initiatives for their preservation.

However, one day in particular offers a powerful and highly visible opportunity to raise awareness about the dangers these pollinators are facing: World Bee Day. Since 2021, this international event, celebrated every May, has become a key date for our Maison.


On World Bee Day 2024, Guerlain invited the public to (re)discover the beauty of bees and the richness of their world through the lens of Joris Vegter, a renowned specialist in insect macrophotography.

Guerlain has teamed up with Joris Vegter in order to reveal the beauty of the bees. The photographer seeks out these insects by peering into their favourite flowers, revealing their remarkable beauty through the use of a macro lens and flash diffuser to create the gentlest lighting possible


The photographer tracks the bees and finds them on their favorite flowers, preferring to work at dawn or dusk—when nature slows down or, on the contrary, when the bees are busy and lively.


It’s in these moments that the photographer captures pure magic.
